Amish BroccolI Cauliflower Salad is a delightful summer picnic salad with all our favorite ingredients like bacon, eggs, sunflower seeds, and a creamy mayonnaise dressing. A super veggie salad that everyone will love!
In a large bowl, combine broccoli, cauliflower, bacon bits, onion, tomatoes, eggs, and sunflower seeds. Optional: Blanch broccoli and cauliflower in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, then place in cold water.
In a small mixing bowl combine mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, dill, and pepper.
Combine all ingredients well with the mixture.
For best results, refrigerate for one hour before serving. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days.
Recipe Note
While this recipe calls for sugar, it can easily be replaced with honey or nothing. The dressing is flavorful enough without sugar but it just comes down to your taste preferences.
For a vegetarian version: Easily make this dish vegetarian by simply serving the bacon bits on the side or removing them completely.
