It is 6 1/2 inches tall with the lid on, and about 7 1/2 inches to the top of the knob.

Does the lid come with it?

Yes. The solid wood lid and its knob come with the basket.

Every measurement we publish is the outside of the basket, measured across the top where it is widest.

A long, narrow farmhouse basket with a solid lift-off lid and a wooden knob. At 16 inches long and 7 wide, it fits a shelf, the coffee table, an end table, a dresser or the kitchen counter, keeping jewelry, candles, keys, remotes or tea bags tidy and out of sight. Set beside the sewing machine, it keeps spools of thread and notions together in one place.

The lid is one flat board of stained birch with rounded corners. It rests on the twisted rope along the rim and lifts straight off by its knob, so the whole top opens and nothing hinges into the way. The walls are rattan reed woven by hand over a solid wood bottom, and with the lid on, this wicker storage basket looks at home in any room of the house.

Our protective feet are optional here along with an engraved solid brass plate. Woven in an Amish community in the Heartland of the USA and signed by the Amish weaver who made it.
