The pad is a cloth pad filled with sand: three minutes in the microwave, then it lies in the bottom of the basket under the liner, the cover goes over the rolls, and they stay warm for up to 90 minutes. Only the pad goes in the microwave, never the basket. The liner and cover are pre-shrunk cotton broadcloth that machine wash and dry. Susanne added the plate and the feet: "The workmanship is amazing and the emblem looks perfect. The little feet are cute too!" The sizes are the outside of the rim, with the inside about an inch smaller; the basket is woven freehand, so allow about a half inch either way.
