Irish Italian Spaghetti
This week’s recipe comes from the kitchen of Lena Mast, who many of you know as the maker of the delicious homemade jam our readers enjoy so much. Earlier this past Winter, one of the women in her district mentioned how much she liked the spaghetti Lena had shared at a gathering last Fall. That comment led us to ask if she might be willing to share the recipe with our readers. Irish Italian Spaghetti is one of her go-to meals, a dish she began making shortly after she was married, when she needed something filling without much fuss. The slow simmering of the sauce brings out a comforting flavor that is always enjoyed, and once it is poured over a platter of spaghetti and topped with cheese, it becomes the kind of dish that disappears quickly. It is a favorite in her home, and now she is happy to share it with all of you.
