This week's recipe comes with a little story from the Borntrager singing last week. When families gathered for an evening of songs and visiting, and there were a few dishes that disappeared faster than the rest, this bacon cheese dip was one of them. The Hershberger family brought it along, and it was such a favorite that Dorothy Borntrager asked for the recipe before the night was over.
Mrs. Emery Hershberger was kind enough to write it down so it could be shared in this week's newsletter. It is a simple recipe, but it has the kind of hearty, familiar flavor that fits right in at gatherings, potlucks, and family evenings at home. It is easy to make, easy to serve, and one of those dishes that seems to bring people together without much fuss. Here is the recipe just as she passed it along.
