We are not Amish ourselves, but we have been close friends with the local Amish community for over 30 years. We operate this marketplace to help four Amish families share their handcrafted baskets with you and preserve this traditional weaving craft.

Very. Each basket is rattan reed woven by hand over hardwood poplar posts, most of them on a birch wood bottom, and every one carries a lifetime guarantee: if it ever fails in normal use, the family who wove it repairs it free.

Yes! Enter your message in the "Order Notes or Gift Message" box during checkout. No invoices or pricing information is included in the shipped box. Receipts go only to the buyer's email.

Our Amish families use one standard stain, a warm terracotta, on every basket. The trim colors you see on a product page, wine and blue or wine and green, are woven in rather than painted on. If you have something particular in mind, write to us through the contact page and we will tell you what the families can and cannot do.

Yes. An engraved solid brass plate with up to two lines of text is optional on most baskets. The other options a basket offers, such as a cloth liner, a lid or protective feet, are listed right on its own page.

Your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed. You can exchange or return any basket at any time for a full refund, no questions asked. Customer is responsible for return shipping. Return address: Amish Baskets, 5833 118th Ave, Ottumwa, IA 52501.

No. Our prices stay the same every day of the year, and popular baskets tend to sell out before the holidays, so there is nothing to gain by waiting.
