Are the measurements inside or outside?

Both are given. Outside, the box is 11 by 10 inches and 4 1/2 inches tall. Inside it measures 8 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches and 3 1/2 inches deep, because the wooden inner box and the lid take up more room than the weave alone. Anything taller than 3 1/2 inches, like a tall bottle, fits lying on its side.

How does the lid open?

The wood lid is hinged at the back on two small metal hinges and lifts by a round turned wood knob at the front, so it stays attached to the box. Inside is one open compartment, lined by the wooden inner box that the weaving is built around.

What can I keep in it?

Photos, cards and letters, jewelry and bracelets, belts, makeup, or the mementos of someone who has passed, like a father's dog tags. It is one open compartment with no trays or dividers, so things lie flat and taller pieces go in on their side.

Can I have a name engraved on it?

Yes. An engraved solid brass plate is optional on this page, with up to two lines, such as a name and a date. The engraver has one plain typeface with letters and punctuation.

How long does shipping take?

Standard free shipping arrives in 3 to 5 weekdays. Finished baskets in the Shipping Barn are sent out right away. Rush delivery is delivered in 2 to 4 weekdays. Special orders and custom sizes take 3 to 4 extra weeks before shipping.
