This Amish handmade tissue box topper basket is the perfect way to hide those unsightly tissue boxes. This square tissue box holder is hand woven to neatly hold standard size cube tissue boxes, the kind sold as upright or cube Kleenex boxes rather than the tall boutique ones. The box drops in from the top: unsnap the leather strap at the front, lift the wood lid, which is hinged at the back on leather tabs, set the box in and close it again. The tissues come up through a slot cut in the solid wood lid, so the lid stays down while the box empties. A tall or boutique box will not let the lid close, and the usual fix is to lift the tissues out of their cardboard box and set them straight into the basket. If you would rather have a plain lid with no slot in it, or a cover woven an inch or two taller for a box you already buy, write it in the order notes at checkout and the family will weave it that way.
