Woven and signed byBorntrager FamilyMeet the familyAbout This Basket
- Handcrafted Quality: Rattan reed handwoven over a hardwood bottom about a half inch thick, with a wrapped rim, turning on a swivel fixed to a wood base, by an Old Order Amish family on the Iowa-Missouri border, and signed by the weaver who made it.
- The Base Stays Still: Only the basket turns, on a swivel fixed to the wood base. The base sits flat on the table and never moves, so a wood table stays unmarked, and the basket spins with one finger.
- The 10 Inch Size: 10 inches across with 3 1/2 inch sides: the small round table, the counter by the coffee maker, a cabinet or pantry shelf, the nightstand with the pill bottles, the bathroom counter. For a dining table, there is also the 12 inch lazy susan.
- Measures: 10" diameter x 3 1/2" tall. Contents not included.
- Three Trim Colors: Choose Plain, Wine & Blue, or Wine & Green. The color is woven in as dyed reed, not painted on, and on the plain finish the stain takes to each piece of wood in its own way. The green is a deep forest green.
- Optional Extras: A hand-sewn cloth liner in cream, wine, blue or green, a lift-off wood lid, an engraved solid brass plate and protective feet are each optional and sold right on this page. The feet do not affect the spinning. The basket ships unlined and is complete without them.
- American Heritage: Handwoven in the USA and signed by the Amish weaver who made it. Backed by our lifetime guarantee, with free shipping and no-questions returns on every order.
Cynthia: "It's perfect for my round table, it holds my sugar, salt/pepper, vitamins, 2 snapshots of my late husband, and pens." Margaret's "fits perfectly on our counter and holds our Keurig pods"; Annette: "I use it to store our medicine in." Joanne, in 2025: "It is filled with Advent items and will transform our table prayer each evening."
On the turn, Dorothy, in 2025: "smooth rotating". Maureen: "Mechanism moves freely. Added feet were worth it". Mary put hers on a big table: "perfect on my large table, there is less asking to pass and more uninterrupted conversation!" Sharon gave one for a housewarming: "I added fruit to it and she loved it and she liked that it turned." Cynthia added the extras: "I'm so happy I ordered the wine color insert and had the feet added to the bottom".
The sizes are outside measurements. Both sizes are on the lazy susans page; the napkin basket that rides on it and the rest of the counter pieces are on the kitchen baskets page.
An Old Order Amish family weaves it by hand on the Iowa-Missouri border, in the same community as the rest of our kitchen baskets, and signs the bottom before it leaves the farm. Standard shipping is free, and rush delivery is offered at checkout when a birthday or Christmas is close. It ships gift-ready, with no prices in the box, a free gift note at checkout, and a short letter about the family who made it. Like every basket we sell, it carries our lifetime guarantee, and returns are no questions asked.

Questions About This Basket
Built the Amish Way

Woven on Family Farms
Every basket comes from a family farm in the Heartland, where the workshop sits a few steps from the house and the craft is part of daily life.

Built to Last
The solid wood bottom is cut from furniture-grade layered birch and secured with solid brass nails. A base that will not warp, even after years of use.

Quality Materials
Hardwood poplar posts give each basket its strength, handwoven with natural wickering reed for flexibility and a look no machine can copy.

Signed by the Crafter
Every basket is personally signed by the Amish crafter who made it and arrives with a heartfelt letter from the family.
