This Amish handmade large wicker stair basket will keep all the things that need to be carried upstairs organized and will go perfectly with your rustic or primitive decor. De-clutter your stairs and at the same time add a unique and distinctive look to your home. Use this woven step organizer basket to stow away and keep items that need to be taken upstairs hidden until you are ready to move them. When you are ready, the handy leather carrying handles make it easy to tote this wicker stair basket and everything in it up and down the stairs with ease. This basket is designed to fit standard staircases with up to a 7 1/2” high step rise, the height of the steps in most modern homes, so measure the rise of one of your steps before you order; on a taller step it will not sit right. The basket sits along the stairway against the wall. The tall section stands on the lower step, the upper section rests on the step above it, and the 18 inch length runs up the stairs, so the basket takes up 9 inches of the width of the steps. Inside, one wood divider at the step line makes two compartments, one at each depth, for the shoes, toys, folded laundry, mail, books and cleaning supplies that gather on the stairs during the day. Two leather strap handles arch across the top, riveted in place, one over each section, so everything goes up in one trip. A flat wood lift-off lid with a small turned knob is optional on this page and covers the whole top. It rests under the two straps, so the basket still carries by its handles with the lid in place, and it can be added later from its own page. No cloth liner is sewn for this basket, since the wood divider leaves no way to fit one. If you would rather have the basket with no handles, write it in the order notes at checkout and the family will weave it that way as a special order, which takes a little longer to make. An engraved solid brass plate and protective feet are optional as well. It is woven of rattan reed over a wood bottom in Plain, Wine & Blue or Wine & Green trim. Hand-woven and signed by the Amish Crafter.
