This handmade pie carrier basket will protect your pies, desserts, casseroles, and other dishes during travel. The leather handles allow you to conveniently keep your pies secure while transporting them. This pie carrier basket comes complete with a picnic-style wooden lid. This pie keeper basket has a 12 1/2" inside diameter so it can easily accommodate up to 11" pie plates with pies that are up to 3 1/2” tall. This Amish pie basket is designed so that you can serve your pie directly from the basket. This vintage pie carrier is also great for transporting cheesecake, tarts, bundt cakes, or other dishes prepared in a round baking dish. This vintage single pie carrier basket is handcrafted by Old-Order Amish families in the Heartland of the USA and will be signed by the Amish craftsperson who creates your pie keeper basket. (Liner sold separately.)
Measures: 14" diameter x 4 1/2" tall
Each basket’s solid wood bottom is the foundation of its lasting durability.
To guarantee strength that will not warp, even after many years, every bottom is cut from furniture-grade, ½-inch layered birch. It’s then carefully secured with solid brass nails, creating a base that’s as reliable as it is beautiful.
Each basket is built with hardwood poplar posts, providing strong vertical stability.
