My Amish neighbor Susan's hand made scented candles come in a variety of scents and are soy based resulting in a very low temperature for the melted wax.  This is a nice safety feature, especially when you have as many children scurrying about the place as our Amish friends do;-)  An accidental spill or splatter may cause a bit of discomfort and a few tears but any resulting wax burns will be far less than a conventional candle's IF there is any burn at all.  Just remember, a flame is still a flame and hot wax is still hot and should be kept out of the reach of children and pets.  Keep these up out of reach and enjoy their wonderful aromas;-)
